The Manchester rain didn’t dampen the spirits at Dino Falls Adventure golf today as local charities enjoyed a round of dinosaur mini golf to celebrate two years since the attraction launched at Trafford Golf Centre.

Volunteers and representatives from local community groups and charities including GMCR (Get My Community Running), Salford Foundation, Henshaws, Greater Manchester Youth Network, Children’s Adventure Farm Trust and Once Upon A Smile enjoyed VIP treatment and a fun-packed day of dinosaur action out on the course.

The celebrations come in anticipation of the new volcanic 18-hole course extension which is due to open before the end of the year. Since its launch in November 2017, over 275,000 rounds have been played at the Jurassic themed mini golf attraction in TraffordCity.

Pete Styles, director of golf at Trafford Golf Centre said: “We’re so proud of the success story that is Dino Falls Adventure Golf. Time has flown since we first opened the doors to our pre-hsitoric course two years ago.”

“We’re an inclusive venue which welcomes a variety of people of all ages and backgrounds, so it was a pleasure to give something back and see around 100 people from local community groups and charities out enjoying some fun on the course for free.”

Sarah Mollitt from Henshaws, a charity which supports people with sight loss and a range of other disabilities to go beyond expectations, said: “We are so grateful for being invited along to the special celebration, with some of our visually impaired service users joining in with some golf fun on the day! As a charity, we support blind and partially sighted people to lead independent and fulfilling lives, helping them to go beyond expectations and achieve their ambitions. Who says just because you have sight loss, that you can’t enjoy a game of golf!”

The new course, set to open in December, will feature a 6-meter-tall walk through Volcano, waterfalls and even more gigantic moving dinosaurs for customers to enjoy. Catering for schools and parties, the attraction offers educational activity books and workspaces, along with fact-finding around the site, to fit with the school curriculum.

Trafford Golf Centre and Dino Falls Adventure Golf, located next to the M60, also offers a ‘We proudly serve Starbucks Café and Bar’, 53 bay golf range, Toptracer technology, 8 PGA professionals teaching from the Academy and the largest American Golf retail store in the North.
