Rawr-some Proposal at Dino Falls

Dino Falls recently enjoyed its first proposal, as Danny Gill popped the big question to girlfriend, Alex Williams, on the 18th hole of the adventure golf course on Thursday evening. Wanting to ask Alex to become his wife for a while, Danny purchased the ring and was unsure when to ask the big question. 

The pair (both from Salford) were due to holiday in Mexico in April, but their trip was cancelled due to Covid. As lockdown rules eased and destinations started to open up, they decided to book a night out at Dino Falls – one of their first ‘date night’ spots when they got together. Danny (29) decided it would be a great opportunity to plan the proposal, knowing that Alex (also 29) wouldn’t expect it.

Picking up with the team at Dino Falls, Danny planned for them to clear the course of other players and had them ready to press play on the couple’s favourite song – Ed Sheeran, Perfect.  Speaking of the experience, Danny said: “I’d been itching to ask Alex for a while, but with everything closed and our holiday off the cards, I was struggling to work out how to do it. I was also conscious I would accidentally give it away! So as soon as places started to open up and we booked Dino Falls, I thought it would be a great idea.

“Alex and I actually had one of our first dates at Dino Falls, and it’s actually quite a significant place for us as it was the point we really realised how much we liked each other, it was the moment I could see our future together. We’ve been through a lot since but we’ve been to Dino Falls on a number of occasions and enjoyed fantastic days there with our kids, so it just seemed perfect.”

Alex, who has a daughter from a previous relationship age 11, was in shock when Danny (father of two from a previous relationship, aged 6 and 8) surprised her with a diamond on the last hole of the Dinosaur-themed adventure golf course. Alex said: “It was a massive, fantastic surprise! I went to putt on my last go and he suddenly said to me, can you hear the song. I hadn’t clicked before this point but suddenly I realised what was going on. It was so well done and we had such a fantastic night. I also beat him at golf, so felt like a winner all round!”
